Lincolnshire woman, Lisa Broughton has decided to stand up for victims of crime by running the London Marathon in support of the Crimestoppers charity. Her 26 miles of sweat and tears will raise funds that will go towards providing invaluable services to those that have or could suffer at the hands of criminal activity. For the last 6 months, Lisa has been in training for this monumental effort and only a few weeks ago ran the Grantham half marathon in preparation. She achieved a very respectable time of 2 hrs and 15 minutes and is now targeting a time of 4 hrs and 30 minutes for the epic London marathon.

Lisa chose Crimestoppers, because the charity has a vision to help people who want to stop crime that hurts them, their family and their community. The anonymous service that they provide gives these people the opportunity to speak out when their personal circumstances could otherwise silence them. Crimestoppers believe that individuals and communities have a right to be safe from crime and the fear of crime. Also they believe that each of us have a responsibility to create a country where there are fewer victims of crime.
